a nap

A recent nap time provided me with a perfect photo op...doesn't she look so peaceful?
She is sleeping on the playmat Nina Walker gave her...she loves that thing!

an introduction

Eliot tried her first rice cereal on March 31st... she really liked it, but most of it ended up on her bib as opposed to in her tummy!

Then, on April 19th, she tried her very first vegetable: sweet potatoes!

Happy Easter to Everyone!!
I was planning on sending out an Easter email with this picture, but as you can tell, I never got around to it!

Better late than never?? :)

a family vacation

We went to NC to visit family this month. We had a blast - even being exhausted from traveling with an infant. Eliot did extremely well on the plane ride there and back - doing much better than Wynne, ha ha!
We got her picture taken with the Easter Bunny in the same spot Jenni used to get her childhood holiday pictures taken; got to spend some quality time with family; got to see the grandparents Pope's new home near Wilmington; Eliot witnessed her first view of the ocean...and so many other firsts!

a wedding

Today, Saturday, April 14, was Eliot's first time to go to a wedding...she behaved SO well, which worked out really nicely, considering that the floor was marble and her cries would have really carried...

Right after the ceremony, all the guests went upstairs while the staff converted the seating from the ceremony to the dinner area and dance floor. The two bars they set up downstairs were made completely from ice and had the couple's names chiseled out in the center.
The colors were orange and hot pink (the same colors I had at my own wedding, almost 5 years ago). The bride's dress was amazing. I will have to check tomorrow's paper to see who the designer was. Or would that be next week's paper? I'm not sure.

I dressed Eliot in her green dress with white polka dots.

She did get really fussy when the reception music started to get loud - right around the time our entrees were coming out. So we figured it would be best to bring her home. The waiters noticed we were leaving and stopped us to ask if we wanted our entrees to go!! Um, YEAH!
We had crab bisque, salad with pear and walnuts, brie and goat cheese with crackers, herbed beef tenderloin and lemon artichoke chicken with scalloped potatoes! It was all delicious.
The dessert was the wedding cake and groom's cake, but of course we missed that.
That was totally fine because the wedding favors were little cookies, so we ended up with dessert anyway!

It was our neighbor's wedding. Our other neighbors who were there took a picture of W and I with Eliot since our camera was out of batteries. I hope to get that pic from them soon and I will post it!

I've been persuaded by a few friends to start blogging and I think all my friends and family will enjoy this site, so, here I am!
more to come...
